Walt Disney World Resort has several new additions like the new Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet Food Truck coming to Disney Springs and plant-based Coconut Mickey Onigiri at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. But this week, we have even MORE sweets to share with you! This month’s Sweet Treats features a few more sweet offerings at Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Read on to find out more!

Rainbow Unicorn Cupcake – Available August 15-18 at Magic Kingdom Park

Head on over to Main Street Bakery to try this limited time rainbow confetti cupcake with white buttercream, sparkly crispy pearls, fondant ears, and a rainbow fondant horn.

Monster Brownie Sundae – Available through August 31 at Magic Kingdom Park

This crazy dessert can be found at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. This cookie dough ice cream comes sandwiched between two brownies topped with caramel, hot fudge, candy-coated chocolates, whipped cream, and a cherry and is served in a waffle bowl.

Pride Cone – Available through August 18 at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Celebrate love with this purple cone topped with Dole Whip Strawberry and a white chocolate rainbow Mickey! You can find it at Pineapple Lanai.

Fall Treats at Disney’s All-Star Resorts – Available Aug. 25-Nov. 30

Try one of these FABULOUS fall treats coming to all three of Disney’s All-Star Resorts. Find them at Intermission Food Court, World Premiere Food Court, and End Zone Food Court.

  • Jack’s Hallow-Lime Cupcake – Vanilla cupcake with lime whip cream, a chocolate Jack Skellington, and a dropper of “liquid goo”
  • Queen’s Poisoned Apple Tart – Butter tart filled with cinnamon apples and topped with a spiced panna cotta glazed with green icing

We are celebrating “The Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party, photo opportunities featuring dimensional backgrounds and “Rivers of Light: We Are One,” the reimagined show introducing additional, stunning imagery and familiar animal characters from Disneynature films, along with a colorful tapestry of classic moments from Disney animation.

And today, we have a first look at new merchandise and a unique experience starting on July 19 inspired by the animated classic that we all love!

A new Dooney & Bourke collection will be available at Mombasa Marketplace and Discovery Trading Company. The collection includes a satchel, crossbody and tote with a pattern featuring beloved characters such as Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa. These handbags will be available to guests on July 19 while supplies last.

In addition to merchandise, starting on July 19, all guests will be able to experience a new scavenger hunt in Africa themed to “The Lion King.” Some of your favorite characters are hidden around Harambe Village. Each time you spot one, add the corresponding sticker to your map. The map will be available at Outpost, Discovery Trading Company, Island Mercantile, and Mombasa Marketplace. Whether you choose to hunt for all the carvings or not, return your map to Mombasa Marketplace in Harambe or The Outpost Shop in the Oasis by September 28, 2019 or while supplies last for a savanna surprise.

Christmas in July at Walt Disney World Resort! Time to start planning!

xmas2If your dreams include more sugar plum fairies than beach balls and sunscreen, then you’ll want to join us as we prepare for the most magical time of the year at Walt Disney World Resort. Yes, it’s Christmas in July, and it’s the perfect time to begin planning your Disney holiday vacation.

Perhaps one of the most beloved events of the season is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. The magical party will begin on November 8 and run through December 22, 2019, on select nights. Brand new this year is Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show. The holiday nighttime spectacular will include some of your favorite seasonal songs such as “Joy to the World,” “Deck the Halls” and even “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” Make new memories with your family as you reminisce about the holidays of the past all while enjoying this festive event, hosted by Minnie Mouse.

This enchanting, special ticketed event will also allow guests to meet some of their favorite Disney Characters decked out in their holiday best. Special character experiences have also been known to take place during the party, including Jack Skellington dressed as the one-and-only Sandy Claws.

Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is another holiday tradition not to be missed. The 11 World Showcase nations will proudly display their country’s magical decorations, and of course they will be serving up their delectable food at the expanded Holiday Kitchens. Guests will also enjoy live musical productions featuring costumed performers that will bring time-honored holiday traditions to life. “Candlelight Processional” is another joyous event that takes place in Epcot. Join celebrity narrators, such as Neil Patrick Harris and Whoopi Goldberg, as they tell the Christmas story accompanied by an amazing orchestra and spectacular choir.

This year guests will not want to miss the brand-new holiday entertainment and decorations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From Discovery Island to Pandora – The World of Avatar, festive holiday lights and celebrations will transform every land into an extra magical location. In DinoLand, U.S.A., you won’t want to miss rockin’ around Truck-O-Saurus at the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip ‘n Dale!

And don’t forget the popular “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” that is returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios November 8, 2019. The holiday spectacular will run through January 5, 2020.

Disney Skyliner Takes Flight on Sept 29, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort

On September 29, Disney Skyliner gondolas will take flight and officially begin transporting guests around Walt Disney World Resort.

As many of you have seen, this state-of-the-art transportation system offers a new way to experience the resort with amazing views only available from the sky.  Disney Skyliner connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort scheduled to open in December 2019.

Some Disney Skyliner cabins feature graphics based on Disney films, attractions and characters. We previously featured a few of the character cabins on the Disney Parks Blog, including those with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Chip & Dale. Other Disney stories taking flight with guests include:

New Barbecue Restaurant Featuring Craft Brews to Debut at The American Adventure in Epcot Later this Year

Prepare your taste buds for something special, because a new fast-casual barbecue restaurant featuring craft brews on tap will debut at The American Adventure pavilion in Epcot later this year.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will take the place of Liberty Inn, which will close July 8 to make way for this mouth-watering experience in World Showcase.

The new location will be a modern barbecue smokehouse, with all the accompanying sights, sounds, smells and flavors you love – including a large smoker preparing fine food every day right on the pavilion’s promenade. There will also be a redesigned patio for you to enjoy, so get ready to grab a brew, some barbecue, and relax inside Epcot.

Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way! New at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

A Disney Villain you love to hate will be hosting her own festive and fabulous event during this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park!

You can now book the all the perfect place to mix and mingle with Cruella de Vil and be part of her circle of puppies, aka friends! Enjoy a fun, festive atmosphere, with themed background music and décor, and a great view of Town Square.

Beginning at 9:30 p.m., this new and special experience will allow you to pop in and out at your leisure and indulge in savory hors d’oeuvres with a taste from the Witches Cauldron—a kettle of gooey and creamy spinach dip with ciabatta crostini, assorted Halloween flatbreads and more! In addition, there will be sweet treats such as chocolate-dipped strawberries, cheesecake and mini cannoli, Kanine Krunchy cake and Mini De Vil brownies and a variety of beverages including beer and wine selections and more

But the party doesn’t stop there! You will also have access to a special reserved viewing area for the truly enchanting “Mickey’s Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade at 11:15 p.m., featuring some of Cruella’s villainous pals.

After the parade, the fun continues at Tony’s where you can hang out until 12:30 a.m.

Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way is available for $99 per person (plus tax) every Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event night at Magic Kingdom Park. There is a certain magic and anticipation that comes with planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, especially when it is time to choose a MagicBand customized with your name and favorite color. And soon, they will be adding even more beloved wearables you can customize!

Soon, Disney Resort hotel guests and new and renewing Annual Passholders will have the option to upgrade, at a discounted price, from a complimentary solid-color MagicBand to one of more than 30 new MagicBand options featuring favorite Disney characters and designs. These new MagicBand options will be available for pre-arrival purchase at a special price that reflects a $14.99 discount off the regular retail cost through the My Disney Experience website.

A colorful selection of complimentary MagicBands is still available for guests who choose not to upgrade to one of the new options, and these new design options can also be shipped to guests’ homes (U.S. addresses only) if ordered 11 or more days ahead of arrival and can be personalized if done so at least 6 or more days ahead of arrival.
