New Walt Disney World Annual Passes Available Sept. 8, Just in Time for 50th Anniversary Celebration

At the Walt Disney World Resort, being an Annual Passholder brings a special kind of magic – the kind that lets you visit our theme parks again and again so you can revisit the spots where your favorite memories were made. And as the countdown to our 50th anniversary celebration continues, the magic is calling: We’re excited to share that beginning Sept. 8, 2021, we will once again invite new Walt Disney World Annual Passholders to be a part of this beloved program!

We are introducing four new Annual Passes offering the flexibility and choice to meet guest needs, each designed based on Passholder feedback. These passes will help our biggest fans experience all that’s to come during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” – from new attractions and nighttime spectaculars to dazzling decorations at all four theme parks and more!

What’s New

Here are some highlights of our new Annual Passes:

  • Hold More Park Reservations: Depending on their pass type, Passholders may now hold up to five Disney Park Pass reservations at a time. We’ll also be adding “bonus reservations” to the calendar from time to time, so Passholders can make an additional park reservation without it counting against their applicable reservation hold limit. Plus, when Passholders stay at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels, they will also be eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their stay – in addition to the reservations you can hold based on your pass type!
  • Customize Your Pass: Choose different add-on options based on your preferences – from the Water Park and Sports option to Disney PhotoPass downloads. These add-on options will be available for purchase with any of our four new passes.
  • Access a New Integrated Calendar: Planning will be easier with enhancements to our reservation system, including a new integrated calendar that lets Passholders quickly see blockout dates for each pass type, view available days and make, modify or cancel a reservation all in one place.
  • Enjoy Passholder Perks: Passes will continue to offer benefits you know and love including the Park Hopper option, standard theme park parking and discounts on merchandise and dining. And, there will be a few special surprises throughout the 50th anniversary celebration!

We’re also introducing a new look for the Annual Passholder program to honor our past while looking forward to the future. Using a piece of the original Walt Disney World Resort logo as a foundation for bright colors and energetic design, the program’s new look puts Passholders right in the middle of the magic.

Please note as we continue to manage attendance to provide a great experience for everyone, at any time, Annual Passes may be unavailable for purchase. Annual Passholders will also still be required to make park reservations for each day of their visit.

Current Passholders

Thank you to all of our current Annual Passholders for your continued loyalty, passion and dedication, particularly over the past year and a half. If you are a current Passholder, please know you may continue to use your Annual Pass as you do today – when it is time for you to renew, you will be able to renew into one of our new passes (at a special renewal price). Plus, beginning Sept. 8, 2021, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus Annual Passholders will also be able to hold more reservations at a time!

Now is the perfect time to be an Annual Passholder with unforgettable experiences coming during the 50th anniversary celebration. Soon, you’ll be able to check out two new nighttime spectaculars with “Disney Enchantment” and “Harmonious,” each set to debut on Oct. 1! Also beginning Oct. 1, guests can experience our newest attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT (soon offering Passholder previews for those who registered!).

Every morning, we welcome guests from all over the world to Walt Disney World Resort – some for the very first time, others for the first time in a while. And then there are those who visit more often, those who can no longer keep count of the days and nights they’ve spent at the parks. For these guests, a day at Disney brings a special type of magic unlike any other – Passholder magic – and that’s why we cannot wait to welcome Annual Passholders during this unforgettable 18-month event!

To enter a theme park, each passholder must have a theme park reservation in addition to a valid pass. Park reservations are limited and are subject to availability and applicable pass blockout dates, and are not guaranteed for any specific dates or park.  A pass excludes separately priced activities and events.  An annual pass does not guarantee admission or entry into any park, experience, attraction or offering.  Park reservations may not be available on certain holidays in certain parks.  Some pass benefits and features may not be available during periods of limited capacity. Also, park experiences and offerings may be modified and are subject to limited availability or even closure.

Please check DisneyWorld.com/updates for important information to know before visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.

*12 monthly payments based on remaining balance after one-time down payment on date of purchase. 0% APR. Monthly Payment Program only available to Florida residents at least 18 years old with valid ID. Subject to additional terms and conditions.

#DisneyMagicMoments: Cooking Up the Magic – Celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day with Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Today is National Grilled Cheese Day … one of my favorite days of the year! Last year, we shared the insanely delicious Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich from Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land on Disney Parks Blog. This year, we are again celebrating and sharing another ooey, gooey sandwich recipe, this one from ABC Commissary at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich!

Our chefs have taken the grilled cheese to the next level and created a cheesy, melty sandwich with just a hint of heat from the buffalo sauce. This sandwich has the perfect combo of buffalo chicken, Monterey Jack, provolone, cheddar, and cream cheese between grilled sourdough. If you want the full ABC Commissary experience, serve this sandwich with steak fries or an arugula-farro salad, and have a side of extra buffalo sauce at the ready. Or go old-school with a steaming bowl of tomato soup for dipping. Happy National Grilled Cheese Day!

BUFFALO CHICKEN GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH from ABC Commissary at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Serves 4

BUFFALO CHICKEN FILLING

  • 1 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce, plus more, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded chicken

BUFFALO CHICKEN GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

  • 8 large slices sourdough bread
  • 8 slices non-smoked provolone cheese
  • Buffalo chicken filling
  • 8 tablespoons mayonnaise

FOR BUFFALO CHICKEN FILLING:

  1. Combine cream cheese, Monterey jack cheese, and cheddar cheese in a large bowl. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until combined. Add hot sauce and beat until incorporated.
  2. Add chicken and beat for 30 seconds. Add additional buffalo hot sauce, if desired.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to use.

FOR BUFFALO CHICKEN GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
  2. Place 4 slices of sourdough bread on a large cutting board and top each with one slices of provolone cheese. Evenly divide buffalo chicken filling among the 4 sandwiches. Top with remaining slices of provolone and bread.
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on both sides of each sandwich.
  4. Cook on preheated skillet for 1-2 minutes per side, until desired doneness.

Field Notes: Rainbow Reef at Disney’s Aulani Resort Helps Us Understand the Importance of Marine Life

Taking care of our planet is a privilege we all share, and it’s something we commit to in a very magical way at Disney. Ever wonder what keeps the butterflies flitting and the grasses growing at our parks and resorts?

I’m excited to introduce you to a new series, Field Notes, where we’ll pay a visit to several destinations around the world and look at the unique ways our cast members harness the ingenuity within our parks to help better the world outside of them. From environmental programs that reduce our carbon footprint, to guest experiences that seek to educate and inspire, our cast members show us the ways they show up to take better care of the world the we share.

In today’s episode, we explore the wonders of Rainbow Reef at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. At Rainbow Reef, Aulani Animal Programs cast members educate guests about our fragile coral reefs and the importance they play in sustaining diverse marine habitats, which in turn sustain a healthy planet. We checked in with Aquarist Eric about this cyclical connection we share with our oceans, and how Rainbow Reef helps nurture that relationship.

“If you experience nature, you start to understand it a little…and realize that what you do impacts all of it and all of us.” Mahalo and see you soon!

Captain Minnie Mouse Takes the Helm of the Newest Disney Cruise Line Ship

Captain Minnie Mouse is already making wishes come true for our newest ship! Today we unveiled that this beloved character will come to life for the first time through whimsical artwork on the bow of the Disney Wish.

The bow’s elegant filigree art, a hallmark of Disney Cruise Line vessels, includes an intricate scrollwork pattern reminiscent of the classic ocean liners of the 1930s. And the portrait of Captain Minnie on the Disney Wish adds just the right amount of Disney whimsy to the design!

The magic of Captain Minnie also came alive today as we reached a significant construction milestone for the Disney Wish marked by the traditional keel laying ceremony. During a ship’s construction, when the first block, or section of a ship, is lowered into the building dock, a newly minted coin is placed under the keel for good fortune. The coin created for the Disney Wish features none other than … you guessed it, Captain Minnie!

The newest captain (in her bold red jacket!) made her splash aboard our ships in 2019 as part of a collection of initiatives aiming to inspire the next generation of female leaders in the cruise industry. And with Captain Minnie at the helm of the Disney Wish, the hope is to continue inspiring girls and young women around the globe!

See Angel and Stitch at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

Hau‘oli lā aloha, friends!

In Hawaiian, this greeting translates to “Happy Day of Love” or “Happy Valentine’s Day,” and on this day celebrating love and loved ones, I have wonderful news to share. Now in addition to seeing Stitch at Aulani Resort, you can also spot the one who stole his heart – Angel (a.k.a. Experiment 624).

While Stitch is immune to the hypnotic effects of 624’s singing which turns any Experiment within earshot from good to evil, he was enamored with her feminine charms from the moment they met. And now that she has joined Stitch at Aulani Resort, Stitch is spending this Valentine’s Day wooing his one true love at the tropical vacation paradise. What more appropriate holiday for the two to make their debut appearance together!

Please join all of us at Aulani Resort in extending a warm, “E komo mai,” welcome to Angel.

Lunar New Year Greetings from Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai

“Happy Spring Festival!” Also referred to as Lunar New Year, the festival starts with the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar. Spring Festival is a special holiday which turns the page of the past lunar year and starts anew, with hope and new beginnings signaling a slate of celebrations.

To help kick off the festivities, our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering Shanghai have calligraphed a special message to all of you. Check it out:

The message reads: “Fortune Ox Brings Greetings for the New Year. Happy New Year!” This year falls in the second position of the Chinese Zodiac, making it the year of the Ox. You’ll notice that Clarabelle Cow treated us to a special appearance just for the occasion, wearing her new Lunar New Year costume debuted at Shanghai Disney Resort. Ever the gregarious gal, she’ll be popping up during the festival period to greet guests.
