Day 1 – Embark in Paris on the AmaLyra: Board the ship in Paris for your Paris & Normandy cruise

Day 2 – LES ANDELYS : Uncover the history of Château Gaillard, the former stronghold of Richard the Lionheart, situated on the chalk cliffs high above the Seine, on a morning tour. Or, if you prefer a more active adventure, you can hike there from the banks of the Seine, admiring the scenic views along the way. For those who wish to explore the area on two wheels, join a guided bike tour through the charming town of Les Andelys. After your adventures, set sail along the meandering Seine for a scenic cruise.

Day 3 – LE HAVRE : During your time in Le Havre, set out on an excursion to the seaside town of Honfleur, renowned for its picturesque harbor, and for being an inspirational site for Impressionist painters. During the afternoon, you can join a city tour of the UNESCO-designated Le Havre. Alternatively, you have the choice of a bike tour through Le Havre.

Day 4 – LE HAVRE – NORMANDY BEACHES – CAUDEBEC EN CAUX : Experience the Normandy region with a variety of excursions. For those wishing to go to the American sector of the historic Normandy Beaches, you will visit the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Omaha Beach, the artillery battery at Longues-sur-Mer and the village of Arromanches, where the remains of the floating harbor used during the WWII landings can be seen. If you prefer, you can tour the Gold and Juno beaches in the British and Canadian sectors, where you will visit Ranville Cemetery, Pegasus Bridge, the Canadian cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer, the WWII museum in Courseulle and, finally, Arromanches. Alternatively, you can set out on a full day excursion to the delicious Pays d’Auge region of Normandy, where apple cider, Calvados and pommeau outrank French wine. If you wish to experience a different kind of inspiration in Caudebec-en-Caux, you can journey back in time with the interactive exhibits and vessels at the Seine Museum.

Day 5 – ROUEN : Spend the morning enjoying medieval Rouen with a choice of several excursions. Join a walking tour and see the square where Joan of Arc was martyred, as well as the Medieval Quarter and Great Clock. You also have the choice to go on the “Tastes of Normandy” tour, where you’ll be treated to the delicious flavors of the region, including chocolate, Norman cheese and cider; or get active by going on a guided bike tour. Then visit Bonnemare Castle, a 16th-century architectural treasure lined with picturesque poplar trees.

Day 6 – VERNON : Enjoy scenic cruising around Vernon before disembarking the ship for your excursion. You will have a choice of three excursions, depending on your interests. Visit Claude Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny. Art lovers will immediately recognize images immortalized in Monet’s most beloved paintings—such as water lilies, Japanese bridges and graceful willow trees. Wander around his famous gardens and home where he lived for more than four decades. Or visit the regal 18th-century Château de Bizy, inspired by the opulence of Versailles. Enjoy an escorted tour of the palace and gardens. If you prefer a more active adventure, go on a guided bike tour, taking in the beautiful French countryside.

Day 7 – PARIS : Travel to Auberge Ravoux in the heart of Auvers-sur-Oise, the last home of artist Vincent van Gogh. His spirit still lingers in his former attic rooms at the Ravoux Inn. The mere 70 days Van Gogh spent in Auvers-sur-Oise were astonishingly prolific as he painted more than 70 works here before his death. Or enjoy the exquisite architecture of the Château Malmaison along with its museum and gardens. Alternatively, stay in Paris to explore the “City of Light” on a guided bike tour. Later, experience the “City of Light” from a unique perspective when you board a modern river boat at the Port de la Bourdonnais, located on the banks of the Seine River near the Eiffel Tower. With exterior seating and viewing platforms, your one-hour cruise will be a dream come true as you glide along the river and underneath Paris’s ornate bridges. From the boat, you will take in panoramic views of the city’s iconic buildings and monuments, including the Musee d’Orsay and the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Florence: A Renaissance Reverie – A Journey Through Art, History, and Culture

Stepping onto the cobbled streets of Florence, I was immediately swept away by the city’s timeless charm. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Florence is a living masterpiece, where every corner tells a story of art, history, and culture. Embarking on this journey, I knew I was about to experience something truly magical.

My first stop was the Uffizi Gallery, home to one of the most extensive collections of Renaissance art in the world. Walking through its hallowed halls, I found myself face to face with masterpieces by Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Leonardo da Vinci. Each painting seemed to pulsate with life, their vibrant colors and intricate details transporting me back to a time of artistic genius and creative brilliance.

Leaving the Uffizi behind, I made my way to the iconic Duomo, Florence’s crown jewel. As I gazed up at its towering dome, I couldn’t help but marvel at the architectural ingenuity of Brunelleschi, who had defied the odds to create a masterpiece that still inspires awe centuries later. Climbing to the top of the Duomo, I was rewarded with panoramic views of the city below, a breathtaking vista that took my breath away.

Wandering through the winding streets of Florence, I stumbled upon the Ponte Vecchio, a bridge that spans the Arno River and has been a symbol of the city for centuries. Lined with quaint shops selling jewelry, art, and souvenirs, the Ponte Vecchio exuded an old-world charm that was impossible to resist. Standing on its ancient stones, I felt as though I had been transported back in time, to an era of romance and intrigue.

No visit to Florence would be complete without indulging in its culinary delights, and I eagerly sampled everything from creamy gelato to savory Florentine steak. Dining al fresco in quaint trattorias, I savored each bite, savoring the flavors of Tuscany and the warmth of Italian hospitality.

As the sun began to set over the city, I found myself drawn to the Piazzale Michelangelo, a panoramic terrace that offers sweeping views of Florence and the surrounding hills. Sitting on the steps of the terrace, I watched as the golden light bathed the city in a warm glow, casting shadows that danced across its ancient buildings and monuments. In that moment, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience the beauty and wonder of Florence, a city that had captured my heart in ways I never thought possible.

As I bid farewell to Florence, I knew that this would not be my last visit. For Florence, with its timeless allure and rich cultural heritage, had left an indelible mark on my soul, igniting a passion for art, history, and adventure that would stay with me forever. Grazie, Firenze, for an unforgettable journey through the Renaissance.

#DisneyMagicMoments: Cooking Up the Magic – Celebrate Lunar New Year With Recipe From Hong Kong Disneyland

Lunar New Year (also called Spring Festival) signals the coming of spring and the promise of hope and new beginnings. It is tradition to gather family and friends for Lo Hei (meaning “tossing up good fortune”) – a prosperity toss salad traditionally consisting of fresh fish, shredded vegetables, fried crackers, and plum sauce.

Each Lo Hei ingredient has a special significance for the upcoming year, such as good fortune, eternal youth, prosperity, or strong ties with family and friends. Served on a large plate or platter, everyone joins in to toss and mix the ingredients while saying hopeful well-wishes out loud to herald in good luck. The higher the toss, the more prosperity it is purported to bring in the year ahead.

There are many interpretations of Lo Hei. Our talented chefs at Hong Kong Disneyland shared their version with ramen noodles, smoky salmon, briny abalone, prawns, and shredded vegetables with delicious sesame and chili-soy sauces.

Check out the full recipe below, and on behalf of our friends at Hong Kong Disneyland, and all our Disney Parks, we wish you a Happy Lunar New Year!

  • 1/4 cup (40 grams) thinly sliced seaweed of assorted colors
  • 6 ounces (160 grams) prawn with shell
  • 8 ounces (240 grams) ramen noodles
  • 12 ounces (360 grams) sliced smoked salmon

  5. Rinse canned abalone in cold water. Drain and refrigerate until ready to serve.

FOR CHILI-SOY SAUCE:

  2. Cool to room temperature before serving.

TO SERVE:

  1. Pour chili-soy sauce and roasted sesame dressing in separate small bowls.
  2.  Place shredded vegetables and noodles on the bottom of large plate. Top with prawn, smoked salmon, and abalone.

Commemorating 20 Years at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort

Disney California Adventure park opened on Feb. 8, 2001 – more than 45 years after Walt Disney opened his original theme park – as part of the largest expansion in Disneyland history at the time. Since then, the Disneyland Resort has become a world-class family destination with two theme parks, three hotels and the Downtown Disney District.

For the past 20 years, guests at the Disneyland Resort have been captivated by the imagination, creativity and evolution of Disney California Adventure park.

Today, while our beloved theme parks remain closed, we explore some of our favorite spots throughout the park, showing how “adventure is out there” – just waiting to be discovered.

We start by taking a step back in time, strolling down the idyllic Buena Vista Street. The boulevard depicts a typical Los Angeles neighborhood where a young Walt Disney lived and worked after arriving in Southern California in 1923.

Take a deep breath and soak in the great outdoors at Grizzly Peak. Once your moment of respite passes, think about braving Grizzly River Run, a one-stop destination for thrill-seeking rafters.

Peruse the boardwalk-inspired Paradise Gardens Park filled with retro-style fun. It’s even groovier at night!

Then, let’s enter the wonderful worlds of Pixar and discover four whimsical neighborhoods at Pixar Pier’s seaside waterfront—Incredibles Park, Toy Story Boardwalk, Pixar Promenade and Inside Out Headquarters.

A favorite spot for foodies, eat your way through Pacific Wharf and enjoy the charming waterfront setting.

Slow down as you cruise through the vibrant Radiator Springs, taking in the majestic Ornament Valley and living the stories of your favorite “Cars” characters in Cars Land. No trip is complete without revving your engine on the high-octane Radiator Springs Racers!

It’s easy to feel like a star in Tinseltown when you step into the lights, cameras and action of Hollywood Land.

Looking ahead, Avengers Campus – an entirely new land dedicated to discovering, recruiting and training the next generation of heroes – will open at a future top secret date.
